The Right Direction in Flooring

Cork Flooring

Cork is a very modern, contemporary flooring choice. Cork is a sustainable resource as it replenishes every 8 to 10 years. Cork is a warm, comfy, and quiet flooring. It is hypo-allergenic as it doesn't trap dirt and fungus. Cork is naturally water resistant and fire retardant. It is easily installed needing no adhesive or underlayment. Cork is easily repaired with wood fillers.

Bamboo is one of the most desirable flooring options available currently. Bamboo is fully mature every three to seven years making it a renewable resource. Natural bamboo (very light in color) is very stable and boasts hardness levels comparable to red and white oak hardwoods. Depending on the manufacturing process, it could even be as hard as hickory or Brazilian cherry hardwoods. Carbonized bamboo (darker in color) is softer than natural bamboo, because of the heating process in manufacturing. Bamboo gets softer when heated. Bamboo has fewer color options than other flooring choices, however design options are available depending on how it is glued together. Bamboo options are solid or engineered and can be stained, distressed, carbonized or strand woven.
